Won’t You Be My Neighbor—PG-13
For many, Mr. Rogers was their first friend. Now you can go beyond the cardigan and puppetry to see the man behind the beauty and radical television programming of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. As an advocate for children’s public television programs, he tackled tough topics like divorce or assassination with his viewers, and his show went on to teach generations about the power of imagination and compassion. While you may need a tissue or two, you’ll know Mr. Rogers likes you “exactly as you are.” “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” will be available on DVD Sept. 4.
Killer: Malevolence 3—R
When people are mysteriously murdered in a small Pennsylvania town, the FBI is called in to investigate. Special agent William Perkins has a hunch that known serial killer Martin Bristol is to blame, but how? Bristol was shot and killed at a farmhouse. Or was he? Reminiscent of “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “Halloween,” this slasher will definitely make you jump out of your seat. The film stars Adrienne Barbeau, Ashley Wolfe and Kevin McKelvey. “Killer: Malevolence 3” is the long-awaited finale to a series, but it can stand alone as a film and will be available on DVD and Blu-ray in October.
Young and in a passion-filled romance, Tami Oldham (Shailene Woodley) and Richard Sharp (Sam Claflin) are given an opportunity to sail from Tahiti to San Diego together. The beginning of their trip is ideal until Hurricane Raymond strikes. Now, with a leaky boat and Sharp missing, Oldham struggles to see if she’s a survivor. What starts as a love story turns into a heart-pounding adventure about the strength and determination of the human spirit. Based on a true story, “Adrift” is scheduled to release on DVD Sept. 4.
